Rowland Reserve, Bayview

I have been going to the dog beach at Bayview since I was just six months old. It’s a long way from the inner west but on the weekends, Joolz and I get up early and head over the bridge. It usually only takes 30 minutes at 8am on a Saturday or Sunday.

And it really is worth it. The water is really clean, there are always lots of dogs (mostly labradors of every colour) and everyone is really friendly.

The Budge (Budgewoi)

Lakes Beach Budgewoi is the best off-lead dog beach I have been to. I often go there with Ripple and Cindy and the best time to go is early in the morning. Sometimes the surf is way too dangerous, so I usually just chase the ball on the sand. During the winter humpback whales can be seen making their way north to warmer waters.

I give Lakes Beach 9 out of 10.
